Independent Names Us in UK Top 50

It was always nice to gain recognition for our work, hence we are so pleased that we have been named by The Independent amongst The 50 Best Curry Houses in the UK.  The poll is not hierarchical, it is a straight ‘best of’, and to be included is wonderful.

Judge, Vivek Singh, executive chef at The Cinnamon Club and Cinnamon Kitchen Our 'Dosa' photo as featured in The Independentgave us a lovely review.  We thank Vivek and The Independent for their kind words, as follows:

“A great addition to Cardiff’s curry scene”, says Vivek, who says the restaurant is pushing Indian food “to new heights”. The review also kindly mentions Chai Street: “Keep an eye out, too, for their venture, Chai Street. “I haven’t tried it yet but I think it will be fantastic, ” he adds.

good food guide

We are once delighted that Mint & Mustard has been included in the Good Food Guide, it really is an honour to be featured and to read the wonderful recommendation. We thank everyone involved in the 2011 edition, and as ever our customers for your continued support for our work. The Good Food Guide 2011 reads as follows :-

“Superb flavours and unusual dishes continue to pull in the punters at this calm, contemporary Indian restaurant. A trailblazing spirit.. gives Mint & Mustard a style all of its own. Try crispy soft-shell crab dusted with curry leaves and garlic ahead of lamb stew enriched with coconut milk, or (from a superb vegetarian selection) paneer tikka followed by butternut squash and cowpeas in coconut milk gravy.”

Debut for New Season's Dishes

The Mint and Mustard have unveiled their new season’s dishes which take guests a little deeper on our journey into the authentic cuisine of India. The new dishes are now featured on the Mint & Mustard menu.

As always, based on the Mint & Mustard philosophy of re-defining traditional Indian cuisine, we have created eight entirely new dishes, whilst ensuring that your ‘evergreen’ favourites here at the restaurant are maintained for your continued enjoyment.

New additions here in Cardiff include Kerala Sea Bass Polichathu, which is oven cooked for succulence and authenitic Goan Porc Vindalu, celebrating the Portuguese influence on Indian cuisine.

Vegetarian presentations include Urulai Pattani, combining oven roasted potatoes with green peas and Chettinad spices.

Please visit our menu section to view the dishes in more detail.
