Head Chef Cardiff: Siddartha Singh Rathore
Head Chef Siddartha "Sid" Rathore is recognised as one of the UK's top South Asian chefs, with a string of awards to his name.
Raised in Jaipur, India, Chef Rathore gained a bachelor's degree in Bangalore before beginning his culinary training in the country's first 5* resort, The Oberoi Vanyavilas. Continuing his career with the Oberoi group, Chef Rathore relocated to London in 2005 to further develop his culinary skills.
Siddartha spent three years as Head Chef in two restaurants in the Capital, after which time he moved to Cardiff to take up a position as Speciality Chef in the renowned Mint & Mustard Restaurant, becoming Head Chef after winning the national 2009 South Asian Chef Competition held in Leeds. He also had the privilege to judge the competition the following year.
Sid has been responsible for creating innovative, deftly prepared Indian cuisine in a fine-dining setting. During his time at the restaurant, it has been awarded the Echo's prestigious Best Restaurant in South Wales‚ title as well as pioneering a popular Kerala Festival‚ with a special menu that received much high-profile critical acclaim.
