It all began with a conversation between Indian-born NHS doctors. The medics reminisced about the food they had grown up with in the “spice state” of Kerala. Someone suggested the British public might also delight in the exquisite cuisine of their homeland – and before too long an idea was hatched.
That idea led to the opening of the first Mint and Mustard restaurant in Cardiff in 2008, bringing South Indian fine dining to the Welsh public.
The restaurant’s blend of an authentic culinary experience in a relaxed, but stylish, setting soon found many fans, winning awards and even getting the endorsement of MPs and peers in the parliamentary “Curry Cup”.
Where others failed, Mint and Mustard went from strength-to-strength. In 2012, the doctors brought their winning formula to the West of England, with the opening of a Mint and Mustard in Taunton. A further restaurant followed in Penarth in 2014, while the “baby” of the chain is the Chepstow outlet, which opened its doors in 2017.
Now Mint and Mustard want you to help them celebrate these events, in a generous series of anniversary week special offers.
On the anniversary week for each restaurant, you will get 25% of all food and receive a free drink as our guests. Advanced booking is strongly advised.
The weeks are: January 20-24th in Chepstow; February 24-28th in Penarth; March 3-7th in Taunton; and April 7-11th in Cardiff. Terms apply to these offers.
Chain co-founder Dr Ajit Kandoran said: “Mint and Mustard has been lucky enough to have the support of many loyal and enthusiastic customers.
“Now we want to invite them to help us celebrate our anniversary weeks with a free drink and money off their meals.
“It has been our pleasure to serve the food we love to so many people over the years!”
